Hi
I have a hoover american fridge freezer which is less than 3 years old. Recently I noticed food going off in the fridge and bought myself a temperature thermometer to check and see why. The temperature in the fridge was warm around 11 to 12 degrees.
It seemed that the freezer was working fine cooling etc but fridge stayed warm, so I attempted to see where the problem lied myself. I took the cover off in the freezer compartment and behind the fan there is a damper motor which opens and closes allowing cool air to pass from freezer to fridge. This was blocked with ice so after removing the ice the fridge started cooling again.
10 days passed and fridge started getting warm again, opened up again and small bits of ice where near the area again. Cleared last night and working fine.
I have taken a picture from online to show what the damper motor looks like. It's like a door opens and closes. I noticed there are black wires running around it I'm assuming they get hot or warm so ice doesn't build up???
I plugged mine in and touched the wires they were not getting hot is this the reason why ice is
building up, should these wires be getting hot?
Thanks for your help and time.
