Hi all
My dryer does not generate any heat. The drum rotates as usual and the timer times as it should but there is no heat to dry clothing.I have taken the top off the machine to have a look and there appears to be a heat generating motor gadget readily accessible. How do I test this or any other ideas to help?

the bit you can see is waht blows the hot air into the drum, its not the bit that makes the air hot, that is done by a differnt element.

I would say it may be blocked with fluff/ lint etc and over heated, probably taking out a stat.

I have a similar (reoccuring!) problem! with another Hoover model.

If the same you need to check the two thermostats have not popped. They look like a switch on top and you need to push them down. If you hear a click they had popped and you have reset them.

Next look at the condensor at the rear of the machine for any blockage. On my model this is white and kidney shaped. It can be unblocked by unplumbing it at the botom and scooping out the fluff with a long thin stick (e.g. a kebab scewer).

I find our model works okay if we do not put the dryer on the highest heat setting.
