Hoover washer/dryer 1100 overflows

My Hoover 1100 has started overflowing from the back when filling. I have removed the back panel and have undone the pipe at the bottom of the white bottle to see if there was a blockage, a little silt came out but I still have the problem. Any ideas? Please reply in idiot terms as i am not so pratically minded!

Also check the hose that goes to that bottle as it may have a hole in it.
