Hoover washing machine, grinding noise, found this?

So my Hoover WM only 4 months old is making grinding noise when spinning.

Engineer comes out and finds this.



Says it must of been washed into washing. Do not recognise it at all.

Model is Hoover DXCC69IB3.

I don't think this item has made its was through the drum and got trapped within the case.

I think it must be an internal part thats came loose?

Do you use gel tablets, it may have been inside one of them.

Yea we recently started using gel capsules.

It would have been a very tight fit as the capsules are not very big

The item probably got into the machine at the factory when it came loose from storage racking ( or other racking ) and fell into the machine unoticed.

I think it would have shown up sooner than 4 months if it was there from new.
