hooverwdm1200 not spinning

what would cause my washer dryer to stop spinning? I have checked the filter, and the water does seem to drain ok.

The usual thing probably, motor brushes.

Thanks for you responce.

When you say it's the brushes could to explain?
ie is this easy to repair?
is it expensive?
and could anyone do it with commonsense?

It is easy enough. Unplug the machine, remove the back panel, take off the belt, unscrew the motor from the outer drum and lift it out of the machine. If the wires are too short to move the motor to where you want you will have to unplug the connections. Unscrew the 2 plastic blocks which contain the brushes. You can then see how much carbon is remaining. When fully worn there will be about 6mm carbon protruding from the brass sleeve inside the plastic block.
