Horizontal crack

Hi
Woody

Thank you so much for giving me your opinion.

I have not checked the internal yet. I will check it but that wall is covered by wall paper. I will take a picture of it and upload it here.

There is a drainage inspection chamber in front of this front bay window.

Cctv drainage survey will take place on Wednesday.

The house is built on clay soil and has been left empty for nearly 4 years now.

Will it be at the beginning of subsidence?

Tap the wall in various places to check if it sounds and feels hollow, as if so it may be dry lined and you won't see internal cracks

If it sounds and feels solid, you'll need to look closely or rub your hand over the area that corresponds to the external cracking.

I will tap the wall and feel it. It is covered by thick wall paper.

Thank you so much for giving me advice. I will go there on Wednesday and i will check it. Will be taken internal photo.
I am really appreciate your help.

Hi
Woody
Drainage report came back yesterday and there are a few defects. They found the cracked clay pipe and roots in the drain pipe. I am thinking to walk away.

I have found another property and that one also has cracking under the bay window. Would you please have a look at these for me if it is serious.

Thank you so much for all your advice.

Cracks to bays are common.

Whether the situation is serious or not depends on someone qualified having a look on site and taking into account the relevant factors.

The main issue is whether its ongoing movement or not. If movement has stopped, the repairs for the cracking are relatively straightforward and cheap.

Once the offer is accepted i will arrange the structure engineer for his opinion.

The next door neighbour house bay window is detached from the main building as well.

Thank you so much for your advice and i really appreciate it.
