I ordered a Hormann garage door, the guy turned up measured up and went away. Months later some installers arrived. Umd and arrd and said it won't fit it's too tall it needs the top panel trimming.
They installed it anyway, its a 5 horizontal section up n over garage door. The top panel won't close it's too big. They said they need a part and will cut the top panel to fit and at this blanking piece??

Also the floor of the garage i asked about a weather seal, they said oh that's extra but they're not very good they dont stick well. Also where the garage sits recessed the steel I-beam is exposed i asked why wasn't trim bought to cover that, oh thats extra if you want that.

Also the top panel has a small scratch exposed when it's hinged you can see bare aluminium, 'oh we can touch that up with some touchup paint'

Am i being a fssy **** when im feeling they really don't care much.

Oh 2 weeks was this, they haven't been back since to resolve the rest. Should it just have fitted without cutting the height?

It seems they make the doors, then sub-out the job of fitting. The subby, will try to get away with doing just as little as possible.

1. Yes, it should have fit, on delivery - somebody messed up with the measurements. Best chase the company, and ask for a definite deadline, for them to complete the job properly.

2. I would expect the weather seal to be extra, I'm not sure about the trim you mention (perhaps post a photo?), but I would expect it to look like a competent, finished job. If not, then complain loudly.

I have just had one of those fitted, no serious problems.
First thing to do is check the company you bought it from is listed here
If they are then contact Hormann UK and complain bitterly!
If not trading standards / trust-pilot (increasingly useless but worth a shot)
It should fit, no ifs, no buts and it's there responsibility to make it so without botching.

Thanks Harry, will supply a photo in the morning but i am pretty sure he mentioned a trim kit as i pointed this out when the installer was here measuring up. I should have known better because from the start i was checking every detail and he didn't seem bothered 'yeah it will be fine..' my concerns about him being too laid back over being confident were correct.

Will be interested to see what Hormann UK say.

Oh well i called Hormann UK today they at first seemed reluctant to deal with me completely advising me to just call a local Hormann dealer, to which i reiterated my issue and concerns. I was given a contact name who wasn't at her desk when i wanted to call her, i had her email, sent her lots of illustrated photos via email this morning at 9.30. Fck all reply, followed up with another email at 4.30 and left a message at reception as she was away from her desk again.
Fking useless so far. A shower of sh't noone cares.

If you still owe them money, hold on to it, until satisfactory completion. Otherwise there is Trading Standards, approached via the CAB..

That's disgusting, roast them on every consumer feedback site you can think of. Name & shame!
Looks like they are responding to negative reviews on Trustpilot so start there but be careful Trustpilot delete some negative reviews.
