Horstmann Controller/room thermostat or just TRV's

Hi Guys

Getting conflicting reports from engineers/sparks at work. Should I fit a 7 day horstmann room thermostat or just a boiler with an electronic 7 day programmer and TRV's? Quite happy with controllability of old combi system which only had electronic programmer with temperature knob on boiler with TRV's on all rads. But possibility of saving alot on heating would be an added bonus. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It is worth having a thermostat, and a programmable one gives you better control.
TRV's are now a requirement in bedrooms at least, and they do give some improvement in control ove a just a room thermostat - but in my view, not a lot.
