Hi,
Had noticed a few loud noises from my gas c/h Potterton boiler recently at intermittent intervals. It's a gravity system - hot water only or hot water + heating but not heating only.
This morning the noise transmitted right upstairs to the central heating expansion tank & resulted in hot & very dirty water spurting out of the tank & ruining a lot of clothing/blankets in the airing cupboard.
It was a mini-explosion!
What might have caused this? Obviously on Monday I shall be looking for a plumber but plumbers are hard to pin down to a day time appointment when you work full-time yourself.
Thanks
