Hot Rads Upstairs Cold Downstairs

Hi Guys

We've been having lots of problems with the heating since we moved in last year.

We have a Ideal Minimizer boiler with danfoss electronic controller.

The heating was not working using the 1hr advance button on the programmer. We had an Ideal engineer out who replaced a motorised valve in the airing cupboard. It might be the Man/Auto box with a metal lever.

The problem now is that the rads downstairs are not getting hot, well the downstairs toilet is. I have been around and bled the lot and there is no air in the system.

I did however last night hit the pump with a mallet and the heating worked downstairs. But toady its the same.

I have removed the silver screw from my pump and its turning fine!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Pump may be turning fine, but can you hear or feel it working

How do you know if its working? It vibrates a bit and every now and then it sounds like water is running through it!!

I think I might go round my neighbours and ask him to switch his on and listen.
