I have a Potterton Puma 100 gas boilerl, last night i noticed it was quite cold in the house, I checked to see if the timer had switched off, the timer was still on but there was no heating.
The Pilot light is on, when I turn the hot water tap the boiler fires up and I get hot water but I don't get any heating, I have tried setting the heating to constant, still no heating

Any Ideas??? The house is freezing, Help!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a tool box and I'm not affraid to use it (just don't know what to do with it!!) :(

Been quite a few similar posts recently, check for a dripping hot water tap or leak on hw pipework, then suspect the wax capsule in the diverter valve. I have also had a couple of faulty ch sensors.

the other poosibility is the central heating connection on the top of the pcb

Does the boiler run for about 10-20 secs then cut out or is it not coming on at all with the heating on

the boiler does not come on at all.

How would I know if the CH sensor was faulty?? is it easy to replace? how much would it be?

thanks again

Mfrs Instructions are at Partsarena.com/baxi.
Check resistance of CH sensor in situ, compared with the identical HW one.
There are many many posts on your problem, with this boiler, please spend 10 minutes reading..!

to me it sounds like you have a dry joint on the pcb connection at the top in the middle ;)

Gaz, you are a feckin genius!!!!!

A dry joint, on top left hand corner connector (PC1) right in the middle. Got the old soldering iron out and hey presto, hot radiators and a happy wife!!

God bless you Gaz, have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!!

Fair play Gaz, looks like Kevs cyrstal ball is now redundant :) ....or has this happened before? ;) , I can't imagine a potterton with a dodgy pcb.

Since the boiler worked on DHW then I would have assumed the PCB was OK and that it was more likely to be the diverter valve or a dripping tap!

Just shows that you cannot guess right every time!
