hot water cylinder

I need to replace my leaking hot water cylinder.
Are the fitting for the connections to cental heating, cold water, vent etc the same on all replacement tanks of the same size so as not to need to alter the pipework

unless you are particularly lucky, they will not all be in the same place.

the older the old one is, the less likely to match.

dont forget now under the new building regs even fitting a new replacement cyld has to be certificated, there will be a form on the side of the cyld for the installer to fill in so that it complies with local building regs we live in an age of rules and regs now, if only life as a plumber was tha easy loads of cylinders were 1" primaries and then 3/4 bsp on the cold and hot draw offs the new ones will not have the same connections they will all need some alteration best of luck
