hi,

My hot water comes as timed , but when I switched the heating on from the controller the boiler stops. However I do get the upstairs radiators hot but not the downstairs ones while ther is hot water in the taps.
The pump is a Selectric Grundfol 15 -50 -130. It gets very hot! I have opened it up and turned it with a screw driver and turning ..but no change.
I have moved the thermostat ( which was located just outside the boiler's cupboard) to the stairs area - changed it from a Potterton Controle to Honeywell T6360 wired as per instruction.
The problem was the same before the move of thermostat location. However it appears that the pump works for about a minute after switching the thermostat as I could feel it vibrating, but went dead again.
Just to add that there is live current ( on testing) to the live terminal on the thermostat but not on the pump live terminal with or without the heating switched on? Can this be an electrical problem?
Would be very grateful for your advice. Thanks

Put a screwdriver blade on the pump and hold your ear to it if it's hums it's goosed if it runs you'll hear it my guess is it's time for a new pump.Bob

thanks Bob ... just thinking ...if the live wire on the pump is not testing 'live' ( when Cent Heating is switched on) while the wall thermostat is turned to high temp for the pump to operate .. then could it be electrical?? I continue to have hot water in the tap. But boiler stops when cent. heating is switched on.!!
