HI THERE

WE HAVE CHANGED TWO SINGLE BATH TAPS TO A MIXER. 15mm COLD MAINS FED AND 22mm HOT TANK FED.

THE PRESSURE ON THE HOT IS NOW LESS THAN HALF OF WHAT IT WAS BEFORE AND WE ARE BAFFLED.

ALSO, WHEN THE BATH IS RUNNING AND YOU TURN THE BASIN TAPS ON THE PRESSURE STAYS THE SAME IN BOTH AND DOES NOT LOWER IN THE BATH

IS THERE ANY THING THAT ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT THAT COULD HELP US IT WILL BE A GREAT HELP.

MANY THANKS

Your mains pressure is crossing over on the mixer, the cold pressure can easily be enough to stop the hot completely and back up thru the hot pipework.

Is the pressure less, or is it just a reduced flow rate you are seeing ?

Many mixer taps are intended for use on mains pressure systems only, and have quite restricted waterways.

In contrast, taps designed for gravity systems have generous waterways to allow high flow rates with the limited water pressure available.

Taps for gravity systems usually have working pressures starting at 0.1 or 0.2 Bar. Mains pressure ones are usually 1 Bar or more.

The chances are that you have brought a tap that is intended for high pressures.
