i have a friend who has just had a new programmer and condensing boiler fitted and his system has been upgraded to a fully pumped system with a three port motorised valve he is complaining that the only way he can get hot water is to have the heating on to warm up the cylider upon closer inspection i have noticed he has no cylinder stat is this the cause of the problem ? and if i fit a stat for him will this work ?

firstly I think he should get the installers back

have noticed he has no cylinder stat is this the cause of the problem ?

certainly wont help.

if i fit a stat for him will this work ?

if you do it right

A fully pumped system should have a cyl stat fitted to control the HW temp when HW is selected on the programmer.

As for your friends case, I would think it has been wired up incorrectly.

unfortunatly my friend called them back and they have been fobing him off for 6 months i told him to ring corgi and report them he did and oh dear they not registered.

i agree on a fully pumped system there should be a cylinder stat and i recon it mite be wired up wrong but the problem is he has got a honeywell wiring centre a iflo programmer and a worcester bosch condensing boiler. he has no paperwork with any of this i am not even sure if the programmer does hot water and heating or just heating

So what is happening to these unregistered installers?

Has CORGI inspected and reported them to the HSE for prosecution?
