My hot water keeps running hot then cold for a short period.

The boiler is a Vokera Excell 80SP, outside in a lean-to outbuilding.

It did the same 7 years ago.
Boiler engineer who fixed it then, said it was a blocked Venturi in exhaust outlet pipe on top of boiler.

He fixed in in 10 minutes, by removing pipe on top, cleared/cleaned the venturi, problem was solved.

I had a look at the boiler, but cannot see exactly where this Venturi is.

Anyone know where it is exactly ??

The venturi is part of the air/flue system. The flue is safety critical and should only be dismantled by someone competent to do so. If your only experience is seeing it done once 7 years ago, you're best calling them again.

Can you get access to the Venturi this way, from outside through exhaust outlet pipe ??

I did this, removed inlet/exhaust pipe, cleaned one venturi & it seems to have solved problem, but why ??

Took pipe off boiler, couldn't see anything inside the venturi pointing upwards.
There were a few bits of dust/dirt build-up on inside of this venturi, but nothing major.

Ran a thin screwdriver around inside of venturi.
Seems to have solved problem, water is not running hot/cold.

Surely a few bits of dirt in venturi wouldn't cause water to run hot/cold ??

Here are some pictures:

The plain fact is that you are not competent to work on gas boilers and should call a competent CORGI to come and test it for safety.
