Hi,

the hot inlet from the Aga to the hot water tank heater coil is furred up. Aside from the heater coil just above the Aga's burner (which may be steel, may be copper - I have no idea), there is no steel in the circuit. All of the pipework is copper, but it does also feed an aluminium radiator.

Curiously, as far as I can see from having just taken off this one pipe it is only furred up at the entrance, so I should be able to remove it quite easily.

Is there anything I can do to stop this happening again? I was going to shove some Sentinel 100 in anyway for good measure, though with little or no steel in the system I'm not sure where it's coming from. (actually, the Aga coils must be steel as there's rust in the bottom of the header tank).

Judging by the number of joints and excessive solder dribbles on the pipes, I'd say it's unlikely to be a pro job.
