Hi, any help greatfully received.
The washer dryer is about 5 years old. When drying it makes a very loud grating noise, sometimes intermitent, other times continually. It has just started when the machine washes as well.

There might be something stuck between the inner and outer drum, such as a bra wire. You can often see the offending object by shining an inspection lamp under the machine and looking through the inside of the drum whilst rotating it by hand.

if the noise co incides with a draining function then it could be a worn pump with intermittent sound like a pebble rattling in a tin can.
