Can anyone tell me if the grill element needs to be removed and then replaced by first removing the faulty one from the the back of the oven, in other words by taking out the oven? I've tried unscrewing one of the two elements from inside the oven but to me this seems impossible as there is not enough good access so I can get a screwdriver in there properly. The picture shows what a pig it is to get in there as the grill itself gets in the way of turning a screwdriver.
thanks

I've got to the back of the oven and expected to be able to unscrew the connected screw from the back. Does't appear to be possible at all. I've taken a picture where you can see the grill element connectors.

So I know I have to get to the back to disconnect and then connect the new grill element. But I am stuck back to where I started in that I cannot access the screw properly from inside the grill compartment. There simply isn't enough room.Is there a flexible screwdriver the thing for the job, something like this?

Use a stubby screwdriver from inside the grill , I use a 7 volt hand screwdriver , or you can use a socket on the end of the head with a long bar and a 1/4 ratchet.

thanks. I ended up getting it out. One side was a struggle but the other was a nightmare. My fault for not using the right size head screwdriver so the screw was burred. Ended up yanking to loosen it up, pulled it to one side so I could get some movement in my hand to screw it out with a bigger screw head. I'm so rubbish at DIY!
