Anybody come across connecting this model or similar cooker, particularly with regard to cable connections onto the cooker. The only instructions from hotpoint are a stuck on label at rear (see photo), with no other instructions. After studying the diagram, where the L/N cables are shown in the pic there is a hidden small square hole where the cables appear to go, after inserting the cable and tightening up the nuts it appears after a pull test to rigidly hold the cable's in place.

After searching the net without success, I found that some Indesit cookers have the same type of connection, indicating that the nuts(screws) can be removed, but this seems inpossible with the Hotpoint.

I should mention that the cooker is working fine, but need clarification from anyone who has met this scenario

Fairly common type of terminals. The screws/nuts are not normally removable.

Provided you have prepared the wires to the length indicated on the plate and there is no bare copper showing, then no problem.

Thanks flameport. put my mind at rest. So different from the 20 years plus cooker it replaced, which was so much easier, this type of connection just seems to me less robust. Also the old cooker had the connection at head height when sitting behind cooker, this new Hotpoint connection is about 12 inches from the floor.
