Hi.
Yesterday I set off my 4yr 10mth old Hotpoint condenser tumber dryer (CTD00G) drying a load of washing. After 20 mins it turned itself off, and tripped the RCD fuse in my garage. I emptied the water from the collection container and removed the fluff that had built up in that 20 mins (I always empy the water and fluff in the drum filter after each use), and set it off drying again, but it turned off again after another 10 mins and tripped the RCD fuse. I again reset the fuse, but the tumble dryer won't turn on again after that.
So I removed the washing and left it to dry out. I pulled out the lower main filter and some water poured out, so I tipped it up to get most of it out. About a mug full in total.
Today I made sure the RCD fuse was reset and replaced the fuse in the plug (and also made sure the socket worked!), with the hope of running it without any washing - to help dry it out fully, but it still wouldn't turn on after drying out for 24 hours.
I tried pulling the top off the dryer to see if I could see anything obvious, but couldn't work out how to get the top off. I removed the two screws at the rear, but it's attached at the front too somehow, and I cannot work out what I need to do to release it. Any ideas?
Also, anyone got any ideas what might be the problem? I read in another post that there's a hole in the top somewhere where I can reset something - is that right?
Thanks.
