Hotpoint DF54 wont pump out

Hi all.

My Hotpoint DF54 dishwasher, is not pumping out the water, it stays in the cycle does not pump out and never gets to the end.

A replacement pump is £90, I have taken the old one off, and connected it up seperately. In air it runs and I can feel a small flow of air from the outlet. Not sure if it pumps water, as it is live and I dont want to get it near water!!!!

Any ideas, is there a better way to check the pumps works?

Is there anything else I should check?

Or should I just bite the bullet and but another at £280
