Hotpoint FDW60G Fault (lights 3 & 5 flashing)

Hello all I have a problem with my Hotpoint FDW60G

When running an Eco wash (the wash I normally use) it goes through the washing stage, then doesn't drain and fault lights flash

Have replaced drain pump and drain Triac on PCB (but don't think the drain pump was faulty any way) This seems to have alleviated the draining problem (not that I knew of a problem as such just going by the fault lights) that it had before. But it still doesn't work properly.

I can use Prewash to drain dishwasher.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Circulation pump faulty.

What does the circulation pump do?

If the dishwasher is going through the washing stage (before the fault lights come on) then surely the circulation pump would be working?

It over heats and cuts out. It runs off the neural supply so cuts the drain pump off.

What might cause it to overheat? Limescale? I do live in a fairly hard water area.

these pumps cost around £100 so I reckon I'll just buy a new dishwasher
