i have a hotpoint first addition 800 about 6 years old when i have gone to use it there is no power there,fuse is fine. i am an electrician but not to clued up on washers be geatfull in any one could help narrow this down thx

Check the door interlock.
Also check the door seal for holes. If there's a hole, the interlock is likely to be knackered and tracks on the timer pcb may be blown.
