obviously i wouldnt do this!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i do know someone whos daughters gas hob was like this and he solved it by putting superglue round the ceramic sleeve where the ignitor came through the hob, it prob got cracked during cleaning and the spark was tracking away and not hitting the gas supply, seems to be still working fine, technically these things cant be repaired, but it isnt a gas part, and if you are happy that the hardened superglue is at no risk of melting etc then wheres the harm, depends who the job is for etc, wouldnt do it for a customer etc as someone else will (quite rightly ) comment that it isnt 100% correct, but on my own?
