Hotpoint Tumble Dryer

Need some help to change the door seal on a Hotpoint Aquarius Condenser Tumble Dryer, model number TDC32. Apparently once the 4 screws on the face of the machine are removed the plastic cover holding the seal should come off. However ours doesn't. Does the sensor at the top of the door have to be removed also and does the seal retainer then just push back in towards the drum or does it have to be forced off ? Any help or hints would be greatfully appreciated.
