Hotpoint Ultima 1200 Washer Dryer - very noisy on spin

Hi,

Complete novice! Would appreciate some advice on my Hotpoint Ultima, which has developed a massive banging noise when it spins (it has been gradually getting worse for a number of weeks).

Reading around the forum it sounds like a loos concrete weight is a likely cause. What is the best way to verify this, and fix?

Hi,
This could be the problem, to check lay the appliance on its back & check the concrete weight @ the base of the outer drum you can use 17mm socket to tighten the nuts if loose, if not take the top of washer & check the tension springs as these sometimes break & while you are at it check the dryer manifold & condensor unit as thes sometimes come loose.
