hotpoint ultima WMA74

hi, I have a hotpoint WMA74 it's starts a wash cycle but after about 8 min it drains the water and stops and displays on, I'd grateful for any ideas on the cause?

Check the motor brushes but also check the chopper board front right hand side for burn marks.

thanks, I have checked the chopper board and there is what looks like black carbon deposits around the centre region of board, guess the board is burnt out?
