Hotpoint Washer Dryer - strong burning smell

Hi,

We have our washer dryer covered with an insurance and the company have been out 6 times over the last year to fix it!!!

so we will be calling them today anyway, but...

Any idea about a burning smell while the washing machine is running? (not the tumble dryer, which is the most common coz of fluff etc).
