hotpoint washer dryer

i have a hoptoint aquarius washer dryer,model no is:WDL540p.

the dryer is not heating up,can anyone help ? thanks.

heating element or one shot gone ,its on the heater box 2 brass screws for heater and a long yellow wire for one shot but test which one is faulty ith a meter

its a one shot fuse in the yellow wire .if the unit overheats it pops .

so i will have to buy a meter and test both fuse and heater ???

how do you test them with the meter ???

put meter on ohms ,or get a continuity tester which is a bulb battery and a piece of wire .then if it lights up it works .

a continuity tester is made up of them parts remember your schools lessons .it tests a curcuit like fuses and bulbs , bit like a meter ,place wire and the other end of the tester on the fuse and then the heater , it lights up it works , google or a tester in maplins ebay or rs etc.
