My machine won't spin. original Hotpoint brushes renewed. Machine still will not spin, and it makes a crackling noise. Hope someone can help, son is a chef! his whites are piling up.

When you say it won't spin, does it turn during the wash part of the programme? The noise could be sparking in the motor. If this is the case, you will need a new motor. You can see the motor by removing the lower back panel.
Hello Fido, husband has come home from work and he says my washer the Ultima Hotpoint WMA66 is going through the wash cycle, but only empties when fast forward button is used. It is buzzing which is coming from the base left hand side and still wont spin. sorry my discription was slightly inaccurate before.
