Hi,
Noticed a terrible banking from our washer. Eventually found the emergency door release.

Washpadside.jpg Washpadinside.jpg Pretty obvious that all the locating lugs had been smashed off.
Checked in the washer for the location. Found this
Washinsidetab.jpg Washinsideclose.jpg I guess a replacement would fit in the locating holes and slide home. However there is a raised metal tab in the middle of the area
I did a trial fit but the plastic dividing section in the paddle stopped the paddle from moving. I'm wondering if this metal tab got bent when the paddle was flying around. I can understand most of the logistic but this metal tab is causing me grief. Could anyone help, please
Surprisingly enough I can easily find replacement paddles on the internet.

Regards Mike

Yeah. Clip on new paddle. They slide in.
Those tabs stick up a bit. When you fit paddle it will push metal down a bit then spring up and stop paddle sliding when it is in the correct position.
Has one broken off or bent down?
You can bend to correct position

If the metal tab which is next to the square hole in the centre is sticking up there is no way the new paddle is going to slide in.
I pushed it down bit by bit until I could just slide the paddle across to it's correct location and then slid it out again just to make sure all 6 lugs in the paddle were located correctly. I then slid it back in and then comes the tricky bit.
Get a screwdriver with a very fine blade and push this through the 5th or 6th hole in the paddle. You need to locate the square hole next to the metal tag. The screwdriver will go further down when you have located the hole. Then lean on the screwdriver to push against the metal tab. The tab should lift back up and lock the paddle in place.
My washer is a Hotpoint WMFUG 742P. But on youtube I've seen videos where the tab is in a different location
