Model number not given but most common on hotpoint is motor.
If it is a model with the motor at the top of the machine probable cause of motor not turning is carbon brushes worn/burnt Inspection by removal and replacement a lot cheaper than replacement motor would recommend you clean the armature before fitting new brush with a purpose made cleaning stick
Thats your problem then. when your brushes are out check the armature shine a torch into the brush aperture the healthy colour should be copper. I guess yours will be black as a precaution were you buy your brushes they will probabley sell a cleaning stick. Push the stick down the aperture and turn the motor a number of times until tha armerture is cleaned. this will prolong the life of the new brushes be careful not to push to hard or else you will break the stick
