Attempting to repair broken hinge on Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 -63
When I removed the hinge, a backplate of some description fell inside the machine cavity. How do I get it out and back on?

Take the back off the machine, you have to take the top off first.

??? Pull it out, tilt it back and you'll be able to fish out the backplate.
To refit, take off the door seal securing band, release the door seal and refit easily.

Remember to unplug before working on any appliance.

Did exactly as tiredengineer suggested - no problems at all - working 100% - overall only cost £11.75 to repair.
