Having trouble getting the door to release. Have unplugged machine, lifted the lid and tried to move white plastic lug on inside, between orange moulding but still cannot open the door. Any ideas?

As the door interlock has clearly failed you might as well destroy it to get the door open. You should be able to prise off the square section that has the wires going to it and the door should then open.
