Hotpoint WD71 buttons not working

Machine is about 5 years old, every other programme & option buttons are not working. This happened before, but with the other half of the buttons. We live in rural Spain and Mains is suspect a lot of the time, hoping the software has glitched. Is there a software test / reset option.

Tried hotpoint twice but only had an auto reply.
