heater down to earth ,check inner bearing has not rubbed onto heater .

thanks rocks1

if i may just verify your knowledgeable diagnosis

the heater earth is the middle one on the heater
so i must check that is connected correctly

check inner bearing has not rubbed onto heater

the only bearing i have any knowledge of is the one on the drum spider and thats not close to the heater so i think i don't know what i am looking for here

thanks in advance

you need to replace the heater at the bottom ,when it gets hot its shorting out ,sometimes this fault is caused by drum surport arm broken or yes the inner drum bearing breaking up and rubbing on the heater .if surport is ok and inner bearing ok then the heater needs replacing .

ok
i'll have to investigate further
as i have only very recently replaced the heating element
is there a chance i fitted it wrong

was it a genuine part not a patten part

patten part i think as it was cheap

it did heat and replaced the old one that did not (e14 code)

did you put a new thermister in it or use old one

need a new new heater .also does it fill with hot water another prob when heater fails some times hot water dont enter mc .

4/10 times it will work .put it on a couple of quick washes see what happens .i take it the pump was new as well, these do stall sometimes ,if its a new pump then change the heater and buy a gen one part no 1602026 and swap heater bracket over on the heater.
