Machine stops after a while and shows Fault f11 , I noticed the motor for the dryer heater was turning ?? should it be ? machine on Delicates 40C wash. If this is a fault with the module can it be reprogrammed ? Is the liitle plastic cover on back bottom left with the contact pins inside is where the eprom connects?

F11 is pump / draining error so you could start by checking the filter. The plastic cover is for a test socket which Hotpoint engineers use to plug in their diagnostic laptops. No, the fan should not be going on wash programmes so you might have a main circuit board failure.
