Hello
Having had wonderful help from this forum in the past, I'm now asking on behalf of a neighbour who has recently purchased a Hotpoint WDL 540P and has no computer.
She was running a drying cycle on hanger dry. At the end of this, the clothes were still quite damp, so she put it on again on hanger dry. This time, the machine carried on for ages and when she tried to pause it or press the stop button, the buttons wouldn't respond. The wall socket was behind the machine so we had to pull out the machine and switch it off at the socket. After a while, we tried a wash cycle and the switches worked fine. I've draped the cable over the work surface so it can be turned off there if necessary.
Any ideas from anyone what might have happened? Is the pause button supposed to work during the drying cycle? Also, is there a filter anywhere on the machine?
Thanks in advance
