Hello newbie here with small problem that i hope some knowledgable person can help with

Hotpoint wf440 washer sticks on cylcle i.e keeps washing and washing unless i drop temperature knob down to no heat required and then it will finish cycle.

Removed heating element and tested between the two electrical connections at iether side of heating element with continuity bleeper on metre and got no bleep.

Does this mean that heater is knackered or not, was expecting element to be broken like immersion heaters
