When I was replacing the bearings on my Hotpoint WM63P machine I removed the front panel and turned it to one side then I removed the drum clips and then withdrew the drum plate together with the heater and turned this to one side also.At this point I noticed a strip of black 'L' shaped plastic about 4 to 5 inches long on the floor and no idea where it came from.I replaced the bearings and rebuilt the machine and all works well but does anybody know where the black plastic strip should go.

sounds like the plastic trim that clips to the cabinet securing the wiring near door interlock.

Agree with the above black trim normally two of these to protect the interlock cables ect rubbing on the case can normally be put back by removing door seal from front panel and reaching through.

disconnect the electric supply of course befor attempting!!
