It will be a fault in the main computer circuit board. This can be repaired by specialist electronic firms such as EMW. Alternatively, if your machine is less than 5 years old it may be worth calling in Hotpoint as the part will still be under warranty. Make sure you ask how much they charge for callout/labour though.
