When a wash starts it goes through the motions untill it starts spinning then it stops after a short spin and 3 lights come on the front.

Could it be the brushes it is only 18 mts old ?

If the door locked light starts flashing it could be a faulty door switch. It is unlikely to be worn out brushes unless the machine gets very heavy use, as the new type motors have much beefier brushes than the old GEC type. Check that the water is draining from the drum quickly enough as any restriction will inhibit the spin.

Found out what the problem was. The Motor is gone. Paid euro 99.00 to find that out , but at least the parts are covered by Hotpoint.
