Hotpoint WD63 is making a loud noise when extracting waste water. What could be the problem ?

Something in the pump or a knackered pump? Strip it out and see whats in there.

hi, i have just bought a hotpoint washer dryer bwd129 on using the machine i noticed a droning noise when ever the machine was draing the water which is very noisy, i have had 2 engineers out who tell me that the pump is making the noise and its normal, apparently all hotpoints do it, it doesnt make sense to me as the machine is also supposed to be super silent and i cant seem to find out any information regarding these noisy pumps

The "Super Silent" only refers to the wash cycle, not the drain cycle.

This is the statement from Hotpoint

"Super Silent
A Hotpoint Super Silent washer has a specialised induction motor that dramatically reduces noise levels during the wash cycle to as low as 47dB. "

You'll always hear the pump when it's draining and once it's pumped out as much water as it can it gets noisier due to it cavitating.

The two engineers you've had out are in fact quite correct in what they say.
