I was over boarding another bedroom, proir to booking a local plasterer/decorator to skim it for me and I was wondering how critical it how well the boards are put up?
Obviously in the main, I have done my best. The joins side to side are snug, the joins in the other direction are within 2mm, bar one which is 10mm, and ditto the gaps to the wall.
On the sloping section I have baised the play to the top where there will be a large rad and presumably the bonding take up gap better than at the bottom, where Ive had cracking on the other rooms, as obviously you also cant really skrim it as im not having the walls done.
I have also broken a 3-4inch round out of one of the edges pushing the board onto a sticking out screw I had failed to to notice. Again. im not about to change the board for that, and presume he will just remove the broken out bit and get some bonding in there while doing the radius, but wonder if I will later regret it!
