Hi
So we haven't had need to use our central heating since February, but we noticed 6 days ago that there was no hot water. Looked at the boiler and it had shut off due to no pressure. Obviously no clue how long it had been dropping pressure for as we had no cause to use the heating.
I refilled the system to 1.5bar and everything came back on and worked. I even turned the central heating on just to test and all radiators seemed to heat up fine.
Since then the pressure has dropped by 0.1 every day/other day. The heating has not been on in this time except for when I ran the test. Our hot water usage is not massive since most of our appliances don't use it.
I've checked all of the radiators and see no visible signs of leaks, there are no leaks around the pipes from the boiler. However the pipe that comes out of the boiler at the back and goes outside (which I believe is from the PRV) runs down external pipework and into the gutters so it's pretty much impossible to determine if there's any water running out the back.
Just wondering if there are any tests I can run myself to isolate what the issue is, I am quite handy elsewhere at DIY but little experience in boilers. Also could do without the charge-out costs at the moment so anything I can do in house is best.
Thanks for any help
