Hi,
Last year we purchased a house which had in pretty much every respect been neglected for the past 10 years. Both the dining room and the sitting room floors are covered with this material as pictured below (pic 1), including a sample of left-over flooring found in the loft for you to see a cross-section of it.
Now, having no previous experience with flooring I do not know if this is laminate, engineered, melanine or veneered flooring (though my money from looking at my own pic is on wood-veneered!). Please enlighten me. If you look at the second pic, you can see that it is scratched in places. My question is: what treatment can I give our floor to restore it as far as possible and/or to protect it from further damage?
Thanks for your time.
