How do I read this meter?

I've pressed both buttons independently, pressed them together prrsses and held each individually and together and all I get is a backlight come on but nothing in the display.
Anyone got an idea what I should do?

Call your provider, it may be faulty, personally I use the app on phone or IHD (in home display) in my case it says account balance +£984.36 and on usage shows in kWh or £ and latter with or without standing charge what used. I never have worked out how to read the meter, I was shown, but failed to try it while the guy was there, and can't work out what is what anyway, I have 5 readings showing Total some letters and number kWh not a clue what they mean. Meter is clearly smarter than me.

My meter scrolls between time date and usage all the time so your display could be kaput.
