We have bought a new kitchen tap but when going to install it - under the sink there are brass push fittings which I think are called compression fittings installed. How do you disconnect them? Can anyone help please?

Hi,

Sorry I don't know the answer but it is known as a push-fit connector. A compression fitting is the type with an olive and a hex nut.

You will probably get a reply quicker if you post this in the plumbing section of the forum.

Without a picture it's possible to misinterpret your words, but the following might help things along.

You should be able to buy a release tool from any plumbers merchants for not much money
