Been trying to find out how to go about sharpening a hedge trimmer (reciprocating type) with no luck. Quotes for pro. sharpening look to be unrealistic - is it better to chuck away & buy a new one?
Dismantle reciprocating parts, then using a mounted stone in a Dremmel, carefully grind blade at correct angle to restore cutting edge, remove burrs with a flat oilstone, then reassemble, paying particular attention to lubrication and amount of tightening required, to enable moving blade to slide freely but not sloppily.
